Volunteering doesn’t mean a huge time commitment. Whatever time your schedule permits, whether it’s an hour a month or an hour a week, we greatly appreciate it! We also value special skills, connections or talents you would be willing to share. Every little bit helps! Becoming active is really easy and it makes a difference in our childrens’ educational experience. Check out some of the ways you can get involved at our Volunteer page.
Parking, Drop-off, Pick-up
Parking is available at PazNaz church (upper and lower lots) as well as on Sierra Madre Blvd. PLEASE be mindful when crossing the driveway. Parking is prohibited in the front driveway and teacher lot (side lot) during pick-up & drop-off times.
Students may be dropped off at the side gate, but only Pre-K parents may accompany their children in to their classrooms through the side gate. All other adults wishing to accompany their students to their classrooms must enter through the school’s main entrance and sign in. After signing in, kindergarten parents can walk their children to the kinder playground and teachers will walk their students to their classrooms from there.
For pick up, all non-Pre-K adults must enter through the main entrance and sign in, and then pick up their children from their classrooms. Pre-K parents may enter through the side gate and go directly to their children’s classroom. If your child is not participating in an on-site after school program and you are late in picking him/her up, they will be waiting for you in the front office.
We have a suggested dress code. Students are encouraged to wear navy blue, light blue, red, or white polo shirts, and khaki or navy bottoms.
On Fridays we encourage all students to wear their red school T-shirts as a sign of school spirit.
Lunch money can be given directly to the lunch coordinator (in the cafeteria). Lunch money can also be deposited online at the PUSD Food & Nutrition site.
Front Office – Absences/Tardies
If your child is tardy, please send them to the front office to see Ms. Amanda for a tardy slip. If your child is absent, you can call the school office at 626-396-5860 or email Ms. Amanda as well as your individual teacher.
Every Friday from 8:45-9am all students and parents will gather at the lower playground for assembly. There will be announcements and awards, sometimes performances!
Room Parents are liaisons between the teacher and students’ families. It’s a wonderful opportunity to get involved in your child’s classroom! Responsibilities and expectations vary between teachers and parents’ availability. Typical duties may include: in-class parties & activities, assembling classwork & homework, and organizing field-trip chaperones. Here’s a helpful job description for Room Parents: http://toolkit.capta.org/job-descriptions/roomrepresentative/
PUSD Aeries Parent Portal
Aeries, PUSD’s online portal, is a way for parents to see their child’s info and progress. There’s also an app that can be downloaded onto your mobile device. Student info, attendance records, report cards, medical info, programs and test scores can all be accessed using Aeries. Parents will need to fill out a form at the school office to obtain a registration code.
